How do I become a Satin Hanger Club member?
Begin by clicking on the red tag located on the left side of the navigation. Fill out the requested information, submit the form and you're in the club! How do I start selling?
First, clean out that closet and get everything photographed. We suggest using a model as items always photograph better on a person as opposed to just hanging on a hanger.
Click on "Sell" in the navigation and then on the "Click here to join now" link. Fill out the requested information and agree to the Terms of Use and you're on your way to becoming one of the girlfriends.
Next, you'll need to create a closet. To do this, you'll need to click on "My Closet" in the navigation and then "Add a Closet." Name your closet and give it a description as you may have several closets some time in the future. To add more information to your closet which can be searchable by others, give your closet a 'profile' by selecting from the drop downs in the Category section.
Once you have your closet(s) set up, you're ready to go!
Why would I want to open a Boutique? And what are the fees?
Boutiques are amazing! If you're a designer, clothing connoisseur or someone who gets a lot of SWAG, this is the outlet for you! For a flat fee of $50/month plus commission (see Fee Schedule), you can open a boutique on MyGirlfriendsCloset.com and just sell, sell, sell. You'll be featured via random selection on the Home page and instead of having to incur the overhead (and the headache) of having your own website, you can use MyGirlfriendsCloset.com as the destination for women all over the world to find what you have to offer!
In order to have a boutique on MyGirlfriendsCloset.com, you must meet the following criteria:
- You must be a member
- You must have at least one closet to submit
- You must be approved by MyGirlfriendscloset.com to have a boutique on the Website
- To become approved, simply click the 'request boutique' link located next to your closet in the "My Closet" page of the Website, fill out and submit the accompanying form.
How much does it cost me to sell on MyGirlfriendsCloset?
Standard Users:
MyGirlfriendsCloset charges users a standard commission of 20% per item sold on the site. Of course, as a Seller, you can opt to up your ante and get your items sold more quickly by featuring your item. You can do this in the "Listing Options" section when you are adding an item.
Boutique Users:
MyGirlfriendsCloset charges a monthly fee of $50/month, plus commission which is 20% per item sold, but as you increase your volume in sales, your commission fee will decrease.
Please note, as of October 15, 2007 the cost to post will be $2.00 per item.

How do Sellers get paid? And how often?
MyGirlfriendsCloset pays its Standard closet and Boutiques users via Paypal electronic funds transfer. Funds will be deposited in their Paypal accounts on Wednesdays of each week.

What does being "Featured" mean? How can I make my item featured?
A featured item on MyGirlfriendsCloset.com is a key item which the Seller spends a little extra cash on to bring it directly to your attention--a must-have, so to speak--whether it be a key vintage piece, a brand new purse, the coolest brand name denim, etc.
You can find featured items on the "Featured Items" page located in the navigation. You will also see "Featured Items" listed on the homepage. In order to have your item "Featured", you will need to select that option when adding an item in the "Listing Options" section.
What are ratings? How do I rate someone?
Ratings are a great way for Website users to learn more about the person listing an item and the person buying the item.
Buyers and Sellers can rate each other - here's how it works:
After an item has been purchased, a Seller or Buyer can rate the other party by clicking on the "my sales" or "my purchases" link in the "My Closet" page. If that sale or purchase has a "no rating" link, you can click on the link and rate that person. You will be taken to a form that allows you to select a positive, neutral or negative rating. You can also add a comment if you'd like.
